The Bronze Medallion course provides participants with the skills and knowledge of patrolling and surf awareness in order to be able to participate in lifesaving operations. This is the core award to be a surf lifesaver in Australia. Please fill in your details below to register for the upcoming course.
Please note: Additional training days will be advised on the day of the course to determine days/times that suit the group.
COST: FREE! The club covers the costs of all courses/awards. You will need to be a financial member of WBP with the appropriate level of membership. You may be required to purchase a course book which is approximately $30.

This course aligns with the nationally recognised qualification PUA21012 – Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue).
To undertake this role you need to hold or obtain the following qualifications and prerequisites:
Qualifications: There are no specific qualifications
Prerequisites: There are no prerequisites
You must be able to swim 400m in under 9 minutes in a pool of at least 25m in length, or over a measured open water course, prior to undertaking any water training or assessment activities. If you believe you already possess some or all of the skills and knowledge of this award, or who have received one or more of the related units of competency, you may wish to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer. For example, you may apply to receive RPL if you are transitioning from your Surf Rescue Certificate to the Bronze Medallion.
